RGP - Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses
RGPs are smaller then normal contact lenses and made out of a harder, less pliable material than disposable soft lenses which makes them less comfortable initially. RGPs correct astigmatism whereas soft spherical lenses do not.
Differences Between RGP and Soft Lenses
RGP (Rigid Gas Perm) lenses are becoming less popular because they are, initially at least, less comfortable. However, they do have some significant advantages - the vision with RGPs is generally better than with soft lenses, and they are actually healthier because the smaller size of the lens means less of the eye surface is covered and more oxygen can reach the back of your eye.

I have bad habits with my contacts. I wear them longer than the 30 recommended days and often sleep with them in (5 or 6 nights a week). I have been doing this for about a year. I was wondering how dangerous these practices really are. Am I causing damage to my eyes?
