What´s the difference between oxygen permeable (RGP) and soft lenses?

RGP - Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses

RGPs are smaller then normal contact lenses and made out of a harder, less pliable material than disposable soft lenses which makes them less comfortable initially. RGPs correct astigmatism whereas soft spherical lenses do not.
