UV Protection
Some contact lenses have UV protection built in to the lens. Two examples are the Precision UV, and the Acuvue 2. Even if you wear these lenses, however, you should still use sunglasses because the contact lens will only protect the part of your eye that it covers.

I have bad habits with my contacts. I wear them longer than the 30 recommended days and often sleep with them in (5 or 6 nights a week). I have been doing this for about a year. I was wondering how dangerous these practices really are. Am I causing damage to my eyes?
